Overview

Measure :  building the world’s first ethical and transparent human data marketplace. 

The world we live in is awash in data: what we watch and wear, who we know, what we do, and how we live our lives. Unfortunately, most of this data exists in databases owned and controlled by corporations and we have very little say in when and where it gets used, let alone being compensated for its use.

We think there is a better way.

We believe that data should ultimately be controlled and managed by the data creator - i.e the individual. We are building Measure to make that dream a reality. 

It’s a bold mission with a lot of complexities, but we believe there is a real opportunity to change how we manage and monetize our data lives with more control, and in a way that benefits us personally, and as a society as a whole with better data supported decisions.

Measure has recently raised investment from both venture capital and strategic firms.

 

Role Description

 

To help support the growth of Measure and its network, Measure is seeking an Operations Manager. This individual is initially responsible for supporting day to day operations, and over time taking on the primary responsibility of managing the day to day operations. As part of the role this person will need to identify new initiatives that support the strategic vision of the business and take complete ownership for some of these projects from inception to execution. The role will require a sharp thinker who is comfortable collaborating across teams and who can synthesise data into actionable insights for the business.

Core elements of the role and expected time focus:

Operations - 65%

  • Support the Operations Director in the day to day running of commercial projects and customer support. Help create operational excellence and deliver commercial projects in time and on budget.
  • Cost Reduction: Find and pursue cost reduction opportunities.
  • Business Process Improvement: Manage a central repository of processes and improve processes to minimise complexities and optimise to promote effective operations.

Reporting, metrics and KPIs - 15%

  • Reporting: Author, manage, and deliver executive level reporting, including weekly, monthly, quarterly status reports to manage risks and issues and improve team communication and collaboration.
  • Metrics: Help support and eventually lead creation, identification, and insights of metrics to improve business performance and drive business actions.
  • KPIs: Develop and track key KPIs across the team to track strategic goals, milestones and accomplishments.

Program Development / Management - 10%

  • Special Projects: Work with the Operations Director to identify and implement new initiatives with key stakeholders to develop, champion, and launch new initiatives.
  • Internal Consultant: Act and operate as an internal consultant, working directly with multiple stakeholders, management, and various related departments to optimise team performance.
  • Project Management: Help the Operations Director to implement new project management initiatives - helping to create business cases, scope projects, cost, schedule, action cycles, risks, issues, decisions, interdependencies and milestones.

Data - 10%

  • Collection & Insights: Gather and analyse data, formulate and test hypotheses, synthesise findings, develop go-forward plans and help drive and translate recommendations into results.

Daily responsibilities

  • Run data collection via surveys and other mechanisms to collect data
  • Set up client surveys and manage commercial projects and data pipelines
  • Deliver top class customer service to our users and clients
  • Assist the team to operationalise Measure’s products
  • Assist in the measurement of Operations and reporting of KPIs
  • Support the community manager to develop and execute on an audience insights strategy
  • Analyse data and create compelling narratives to create operational and product improvements
  • Manage key business projects

Technical skills required:

  • Microsoft suite: Excel, PowerPoint, Word
  • SQL and/or data analysis tools

Qualifications and experience required:

  • University graduate with 3-5 years of experience
  • Working in Business Operations / Product Operations / Revenue Operations or other Operations management roles; or in Product / Project management; or in Customer Service; or in Consulting
  • Preferably experience working for an adtech, research or technology company
  • Managing complex projects, programs of work
  • Experience with business process design and improvement
  • Has worked independently and as part of a cross functional, distributed team
  • Having worked in a startup is a plus

  • MBA qualification
  • Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt
  • Change Management Certification
  • Project Management Institute Certifications
  • Sales/Marketing tools, e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot
